The Ritz-Carlton Hotel company, a part of Marriott International, announced this week the launch of “The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection,” which represents the first time a luxury hotel brand will offer accommodations both on land and at sea.

The first of three Ritz-Carlton luxury yachting and cruising experiences is scheduled to launch in late-2019.

“This unique combination of yachting and cruising will usher in a new way of luxury travel for guests seeking to discover the world in a relaxed, casually elegant and comfortable atmosphere with the highest level of personalized service,” said Herve Humler, President and Chief Operating Office of Ritz-Carlton.

The first of the three ships to launch will be a smaller vessel able to accommodate up to 298 passengers. It will feature 149 suites with private balconies, two duplex penthouse suites, a restaurant, spa, lounge and wine bar, along with other on-board entertainment options.

Travel itineraries for the ships are still being developed, and voyages will range from 7-10 days. The first ship will cruise in multiple destinations such as the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America. One of the advantages, says the Ritz-Carlton, of having a smaller vessel is that they will be able to dock at locations not typically accessible to the larger cruise lines; destinations like Capri, Portofino, St. Barths, or Cartagena.

“The Ritz-Carlton is known for its legendary service and high standards,” said Douglas Prothero, Managing Director of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. “The Rtiz-Carlton Yacht Collection will have a distinctive personality and the vessels are sure to be true stand outs in some of the most glaourous ports around the world,” Humler added.

The Ritz-Carlton reports that reservations for the yacht will open in May, 2018, and the vessels are also available for private charter. For more information, visit www.ritzcarlton.com/en/yachts.
